What is it?

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Our one day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training courses meet all relevant health and safety regulations and are designed to give those attending the skills to deal with a variety of incidents and injuries in other environments.

All courses are held at our training centre in Hertfordshire or can be delivered at client’s own premises, up to a maximum of 12 candidates per course.


Who should attend?

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first-aider in their workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations and are issued with a certificate enabling them to act as a qualified first-aider for up to three years.

As a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training.


What does it cost?

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Training Course – £80.00 per person. Price includes VAT.

7 hours of Driver CPC Qualification may be added at no extra charge, if required.


What does the course cover?

Training is delivered using a mixture of presentations, videos and practical exercises, and a comprehensive set of course notes is issued to all candidates. 

The course content includes:

• The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first-aider

• Assessing an incident

• Managing an unresponsive casualty 

• CPR and defibrillation

• Recovery Position Choking

• Seizures

• Shock

• Wounds and bleeding

• Minor injuries

• Cuts, grazes and bruises 

• Minor burns and scalds

All those attending will be provided with a Certificate of Achievement on successful completion.
